A Marriage of Hospitality and the Arts

Macarthur, Victoria, October 20, 2022– Suffoir Winery, Brewery and Distillery’s inaugural Art@Suffoir exhibition was a huge success with a great crowd soaking up the sun, live music, and art by local artist in residence Juanita Pohl and more!

Suffoir’s artist-in-residence, Juanita Pohl, was excited to showcase the mural and sculpture that she had been working on for the past few months.

“While there have certainly been challenges with regards to painting an outdoor mural in winter Victoria,” she says laughing, “this project has become a highlight on my artistic journey. I’ve loved meeting new people and sharing with them some of my thoughts and ideas in relation to further potential on the property.”

Owners Michelle and Pieter mention the true joy of having Juanita on the property.

“It was always a highlight knowing that she would be there on the day and how a paint stroke would morph into a work of art. It was also endearing to see how every second person tried to buy her sculpture, Poppy, even before the exhibition!”

This project was made possible by the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund, which supports the arts in regional and remote Australia.
